In the deep valleys of the Indian Himalayas...
women are the breadwinners. Farming, harvesting and providing for their family solely lies in the hands of these matriarchs. They walk down from their villages high in the mountains with firewood, fruits and vegetables grown in high altitudes and handknits they craft in the evening sitting by the fire. After selling their goods either in the bazaar of the valley or door to door in homes, they return back to their villages in the evening with groceries and other items of need they buy from the money earned during the day.

These pairs of Himalayan socks have been sourced from these women artisans, handknit by them at their homes in the Himalayas. Each piece is one of a kind, made by different women in the villages of Kullu valley. Thank you for supporting these women in their everyday hustle.

Two of the most common names of women in the mountains are Dolma and Bimla. I've named these socks honouring the origin of these socks, in the homes of such resilient women who have preserved the Himalayan culture in their craft and rituals while ensuring livelihood for their families.

Every stitch brings you warmth. Every purchase brings them independence.
